welcome all! We are excited to announce some new updates to the TrendSpider platform. In this update, we’ve made some really exciting new additions to our custom watchlists. In addition, users can now customize the time zone of their chart’s time axis. Details after the jump!
Top Traded By Retail Investors Watchlist
The first new style of custom watchlists we’ve added is the Top Traders by Retail Investors lists. These watchlists contain the most traded indices by far small investors on the NASDAQ on a certain date up to seven days earlier (yesterday, two days ago, etc.). Each list contains the top 10 indices traded by retail investors and is ranked by activity. For example, if “Top Traders, 2 days ago, Retail InvestorsThe list has AAPL, MSFT and ZM in the top three, then you can tell that AAPL was the most traded asset (by retail traders) two days ago, MSFT is the second most traded asset, and ZM is the third most traded asset.
important note: For these listings, “X days ago” actually means “X days ago”. So, for example, on Monday,Most Traders, from 1 day ago, Retail InvestorsThe list contains the best indices that were traded by retail investors last Friday.
Market value watch list
We’ve also added a new set of custom watchlists that are filtered by market capitalization. As you can see in the image below, we now offer menus that allow you to select the size of the company you are looking for.
While these lists can be useful as is, we find that they are best used as parameters within the scanner. In order to make use of them in the scanner, just open the scanner, click on “Add Parameter”, then “Status”, then “Watch List” and type in “Market Cap” and select the list you wish to use! We are really happy to add this feature, as it has been widely requested and can be a very useful way to improve scan results.
Custom time zones
You can now adjust the time zone on your charts to reflect either the exchange time zone (EST) or your local time. In the lower right corner of the graph, note where “Your local timezone” is written. Your charts will be set to your local time by default.
If you want to switch your charts to the timezone of the exchange, simply click the “gear” icon in the top left of the chart, then choose the “Data” tab and click the dropdown menu next to “Timezone” and change the setting to Interchange timezone.
Some traders find it very useful to be able to view their charts in the time zone of the exchange. This functionality makes it so that one does not have to make any comparisons between local time and exchange time, and we are very excited to be able to bring this feature to the platform. Enjoy!
