Apodaca, N.L.- The first flight from Viva Aerobus to Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) managed to leave Monterrey on time, but with 100 vacant seats.
The plane is an Airbus A320, it seats 180, so it only goes to a third of the available places.
Yesterday, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador inaugurated AIFA after two and a half years of construction and at a cost of 75 billion pesos.
In contrast, the airline’s scheduled flight from Monterrey to Mexico City International Airport (AICM) was delayed by at least two hours and the expected departure time is expected to be noon with a 9:50 am take-off time.

Gloria Fernandez, 57, expects she will not be making a connecting flight from AICM due to the delay.
“If I had known I was going to Felipe Angeles, it would have been a two-hour delay in Nuevo Leon on the way to Benito Juarez,” he said.
According to Sedena, AIFA will attend daily for the first 20 days with an average of 22 thousand passengers.
